This is the first post. A short note on what this blog is for.

What this is

Simple ideas to make small to medium sized businesses perform better. That is the brief in a single sentence. Each post here will pick one practical idea, explain it clearly, and leave you with something you can actually do.

Who it is for

The writing is aimed at four kinds of business:

  • Local businesses running shops, studios, or services in their town.
  • Professional services like solicitors, accountants, consultants, and coaches.
  • Trades including builders, electricians, plumbers, and gardeners.
  • Salons including hair, beauty, barber, and nails.

Use the filter at the top of the homepage to narrow posts down to your kind of business.

What to expect

Short pieces. Concrete advice. No fluff, no jargon, no twenty-paragraph preambles before the actual point. If a post has a free download attached, you will see it at the bottom of the article.

Subscribing

The simplest way to follow along is the email signup at the bottom of this page, or the RSS feed. No popups, no tracking. If you want to read what I write, you can.

More to come.
